There are people who have big dreams and are content to leave them floating in the ether. And then there are those who grab those dreams in a fucking head lock and drag them kicking and screaming into reality. LeSean Thomas is one of the later. I've been following his career since his big break as a comic artist at Dreamwave to his stint as co-director and character designer of "The Boondocks." Now he's living in Korea working for a studio as an animation director, designer, illustrator, and, it seems, documentary film maker.

Seoul Sessions will follow the creative process of bringing his creator owned series Cannon Busters to life in 2D animation. You may remember Cannon Busters from a handful of issues published through UDON/Devil's Due. There were rumblings about a full graphic novel in the works, but with LeSean's busy schedule, it seems to have been put on the back burner. To hear that the series is making a return in animation is mind blowingly exciting and I can't friggin' wait. Yes, it's great to see LeSean's work on Boondocks and Black Dynamite and all those other properties that he's lent his distinct flair. But nothing can match the energy and enthusiasm you feel when seeing something that sprung entirely from a creator's own head. Cannon Busters was LeSean's best comic work to date and I can't wait to see more.

No word on when Seoul Sessions will properly start, but I'll be keeping an eye out.
