Called Out

It used to annoy the every loving shit out of me that I would get flack from my bosses for missing a redundant meeting when I was in the middle of a major deadline. Do you want this project to get done on time? Or is hearing yourself talk more important than actual work? The stupid thing is that these little things like dress code or redundant meetings, those are the things that your bosses will notice infinitely more than the quality of your work. Maybe it's the places I've ever worked, but it's rare for me to receive any kind of recognition or reward for turning in projects that exceed client expectations. Ah well, such is the life of a salaryman/salarywoman.

This video is sort of a subtweet about some art twitter discourse. But I wanted to respond in video form rather than in written form so that you wouldn't misinterpret my words. Also not linking the discourse directly because I don't want to dogpile on the inspiration for my thoughts. But here are three ideas that I wanted to share with artists for us to keep in our brains as we go into the new year.
