Monica Gallagher is an amazing cartoonist. She’s always on the grind cranking out work like a comics factory. Whenever I think I can’t draw anything more, I look at Monica kicking ass with her assassins and gods and roller girls so I drag my lame ass back to the table.

If her work ethic wasn’t enough to inspire, Monica is the founder of B’more Into Comics. It’s a one-day free event that features local cartoonist in a super relaxed venue, usually a bar. B’more is such a welcome break from the gigantic mega cons that cater to big name celebrities.

Monica is fucking rad.

The next issue (each event is called an "issue") of B’more is August 19 at the Windup Space in Baltimore. We’re raising money for Monica for bills and such because she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Fuck cancer. Knowing her, she’s not going to let that stop her in the slightest. Already, she’s cranking out Assassin Roommate pages in advance of her treatment. We can’t let her fight alone. Come join the fun, meet some local up-and-comers, and help Monica kick cancer right in the junk. I won't be able to physically make it, but here's a sneaky peaky at a print I'll have for sale, 100% of the proceeds will go towards Monica's fight.

This video is sort of a subtweet about some art twitter discourse. But I wanted to respond in video form rather than in written form so that you wouldn't misinterpret my words. Also not linking the discourse directly because I don't want to dogpile on the inspiration for my thoughts. But here are three ideas that I wanted to share with artists for us to keep in our brains as we go into the new year.
