I've been eating a helluvalot of dumplings lately. Because they're fucking awesome. Our latest find is
Pinch Gourmet Dumplings. They don't have a store front, you can't find their dumplings in a store, they don't have a brick and mortar location. From now until November, you can only find them at the Mid Pike Plaza Farmer's Market on Rockville Pike on Saturdays from 9am-2pm.
But enough about that, let's talk about the dumplings! These are seriously some of the best I've had in this area. We had the pork with shrimp and lamb with carrots. The dumpling skins are all hand rolled and pinched and ever so thin. Sometimes when you get dumplings, the wrapper is chewy and oily and totally gets in the way of the flavor of the filling. But these wrappers were perfectly made to let the filling shine through. And shine they did. The pork matched perfectly with the shrimp and just melted in the mouth. The lamb had a bit of soup along with it that just enhanced the oily flavor. If we didn't have a party to go to later in the evening, I would have ordered a large bucket full and eaten them right there in the market.
If you are a dumpling fanatic like I am, you owe it to yourself to get out to the Mid Pike Plaza Farmer's Market and get yourself ALL THE DUMPLINGS! And be sure to follow them on
Facebook and
Twitter to find out where they'll be next.
