If you're in the Washington DC Metro area, the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, MD is running an Akira Kurosawa Centennial film festival from May 15 – June 21. Though I've seen most of his samurai movies (Rashomon is one of my favorites), I haven't seen any of his non-choppy stuff.

Looks like a really good lineup of his work. I've never seen a Kurosawa film on the big screen so this looks like an amazing event. And since they're calling it Part 1, I imagine there will be a Part 2 sometime in the future. All films will be shown in Japanese with English subtitles. So if you're in the DC area, it's time to get your Kurosawa on!
