I'm not terribly social on purpose despite me getting up on stage on the regular and going to conventions and all that. Introverted extrovert? Is that a thing? So plugging in to listen to some dope tracks while grinding away in the office is sort of my default mode. But it's also fucking weird to get DMs from someone who's within arm's reach.

I mean, most of the time I'm working all alone here by myself. But on the rare occasions when I get into the office, I maybe plug in too soon. Ah well. And now I'm thinking about how cool it would be to have a cartooning coworking spot somewhere so I'd have fellow cartoonists to commiserate with! Yo, anyone in MD have a spot, hit me up!

BODIE

Whoa, easy there, tiger.

SHIN

Whu?

BODIE

It?s your first day and I know you want to hit the ground running and all.

But it?s too soon to block everything out and just tunnel in to your work. We haven?t even talked about what you?re going to be doing with us.

====

ALLY

We don?t really plug in unless it?s crunch time. Not really a policy or anything. Actually, I don?t think we?ve ever talked about policies or anything like that. But it?s just weird dm?ing someone sitting right next to you.

SHIN

Yeah. I guess. I guess that is really weird, isn?t it.

====

ALLY

Sounds like this is something you?ve experienced?

SHIN

The last place I worked at. Now that I think back on it, they were weird.

====

SHIN

They insisted on blasting this white noise crap through speakers in the ceiling. Something about concentration or productivity or some crap someone went to a seminar for.

====

SHINE

I had to plug in as soon as I stepped in the door just to keep my thoughts in my brain meats.

====

KANE

WHITE?NOISE?

ALLY

SERENITY NOW! SERENITY NOW!!!

BODIE

This video is sort of a subtweet about some art twitter discourse. But I wanted to respond in video form rather than in written form so that you wouldn't misinterpret my words. Also not linking the discourse directly because I don't want to dogpile on the inspiration for my thoughts. But here are three ideas that I wanted to share with artists for us to keep in our brains as we go into the new year.
