There are ways this could end. None of them good.

And with this gloriously awkward moment, we end the climbing arc. As you can tell, not a whole lot of climbing goes on in the gym when you're with a big group. Actually, that's not true. If you've got a regular group that you climb with, a whole helluvalot of climbing goes on. When you're at the gym, you're challenging each other to try difficult climbs, watching to see how your friends tackle something you just fell off of, trading beta (sharing beta is basically sharing advice on how to successfully complete a climb), talking about outdoor climbing trips, swapping training regimens, asking for tape to stop your finger pad from bleeding all over the place. The hanging out happens after. And usually, the after-climbing hanging out consists of more climbing talk. It's a lot like when people who drink get together to talk about times when they got fucking drunk off their asses. Replace the drunk stories with climbing stories and you've got a pretty good idea of what it's like to hang with climbers.

New story begins on Friday which I hope is terribly awkward and uncomfortable and awesome.

This video is sort of a subtweet about some art twitter discourse. But I wanted to respond in video form rather than in written form so that you wouldn't misinterpret my words. Also not linking the discourse directly because I don't want to dogpile on the inspiration for my thoughts. But here are three ideas that I wanted to share with artists for us to keep in our brains as we go into the new year.
