I don't think the Big Boss means what Kane thinks he means.

It is terribly frustrating to spend all day in meetings about productivity when the actual productive thing to do would be to just do the damn work. But sometimes I feel like bosses use meetings to justify their existence. I can count on one hand the number of meetings where actual important, useful, critical information was communicated at my workplace last year. Part of me thinks that there must be something wrong with the human condition. None of us like meetings or think they're at all useful and yet we constantly create organizations that thrive on meetings as if they were lifeblood. There must be something secretly inside humans that yearns to sit in a room and stare blankly on as some self-important executive bloviates about absolutely nothing. I mean, why else would we do this shit to ourselves?

This video is sort of a subtweet about some art twitter discourse. But I wanted to respond in video form rather than in written form so that you wouldn't misinterpret my words. Also not linking the discourse directly because I don't want to dogpile on the inspiration for my thoughts. But here are three ideas that I wanted to share with artists for us to keep in our brains as we go into the new year.
