Video screens in food?  I wouldn't put anything past Jose Andres! Local molecular gastronomy humor, yeah!

BABY WATCH

As we move into January, the baby watch begins.  She's scheduled to arrive around the 15th, but we don't want to pressure her this early in life.  She can come out when she's good and ready.

I asked for some guest arts and..... well...... I might end up running some Nomling strips after the baby is born.  If you haven't been reading Nomlings, it'll be new shit for you!  If you have... uh... well, there's always room for seconds!  I'll figure out something.  But there will be updates of one kind or another when baby pops.

DIGIDITIONS

I guess if I was the type of person to make resolutions, I'd say that I want to do more active promotion of my work in 2014.  So I will be using this last bit of the comic blog to pimp things out like commissions or merch or things of that nature which is a long way of saying that I'd like to remind you that the digital versions of Book 1 and Book 2 are available now for whatever you want to pay!  Each volume has bonus content you can't find in the print edition or on the website.  I hope to offer other digital things in the future like desktops if people are still into that sort of thing.  So check em out if you're looking for something fun to load onto your tablet device!

MOUSE OVER

No, the next step in molecular gastronomy is cameras that you swallow to stream your digestion on YouTube!

PANEL 1

Killer Queen regards her monitor as iRate scratches his head.

KILLER QUEEN

Steel spoon? Iron spoon?

IRATE

This is really weird.

PANEL 2

Killer Queen looks at iRate's screen.

KILLER QUEEN

What am I looking at, here?

iRATE

These are all the companies that have made purchase orders for small OLED components in the last six months.

PANEL 3

iRate continues.

iRATE

Lots of tech companies, cell phone manufacturers, video game console and peripheral makers, you know, the usual suspects. Down here is where shit gets weird.

PANEL 4

Killer Queen points to the lower part of the list.

KILLER QUEEN

Are--are these cooking schools?

iRATE

Looks like. So unless video screen cupcakes are a thing, some shit's going down.

This video is sort of a subtweet about some art twitter discourse. But I wanted to respond in video form rather than in written form so that you wouldn't misinterpret my words. Also not linking the discourse directly because I don't want to dogpile on the inspiration for my thoughts. But here are three ideas that I wanted to share with artists for us to keep in our brains as we go into the new year.
